Capitol Hill store Metro Mutts will have free pastries for shoppers and treats for their dogs on Dec. 18.

Dec. 18.

Historical Ornament

The U.S. Capitol Historical Society has released its 2010 ornament. The ornament, which is a photo of the Capitol Dome framed by marble, is made of original marble from the East Front of the Capitol that was crushed into a powder and then molded into the frame shape. One of these ornaments is hanging on the Capitol Christmas tree. The ornament is $24 and is on sale at the historical society’s online gift shop, uschscatalog.org.

Other ornaments for sale include Statue of Freedom replicas, also made from marble from the East Front, and the oval Capitol Dome tree ornament, which features a picture of the Capitol Dome and Christmas tree surrounded by brass.
