Rahm Emanuel’s First Chicago Ad: City at ‘Crossroads’ (VIDEO)

Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is up with his first mayoral bid television ad as he seeks to win over Chicago voters.

It’s a positive ad showing Emanuel (D) speaking with students at school, and chatting with commuters on L platforms and along his recent “Tell It Like It Is” listening tour. Emanuel formally announced his candidacy yesterday.

The spot, which you can watch below, begins airing on TV tomorrow.

“I think we’re at a crossroads,” Emanuel says in the ad. “We’ve got to decide whether we’re going to continue to be a great city or become a second-tier city. It’s time to make that choice and make the tough decisions that are necessary.”

Emanuel, who served as a Member of Congress and in Democratic leadership until President Barack Obama plucked him for the administration, will face a crowded primary this February.
