HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Norton Gets Her Own Cocktail

Looking for a place to kick back after dealing with crowds at the March to Keep Fear Alive on Saturday? Look no further than the Passenger, which will be hosting an official post-rally happy hour.

“The Passenger gets a Colbert Bump!” the bar posted on its Facebook page early Thursday morning.

From 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, the bar (1021 Seventh St. NW) will offer special themed cocktails with names such as the Screaming Eagle, Righteous Right and the Colbert Patriot Punch. The bar will even serve up a drink called Norton’s Revenge, named for D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D). No word on the ingredients in the drink, but we bet it has a kick.

“Let me say that Eleanor is going to be at the rally to deliver her revenge one way or another in person,” Norton said after hearing of the cocktail.

She added that she hopes Colbert will get a chance to taste the drink.

“I expect it to be the strongest and most caustic drink ever served in the District of Columbia, befitting the name,” Norton said.

It’s not all fun and games at the Passenger. A portion of the profits from the happy hour will be donated to DonorsChoose.org, a charity organization that helps to support teachers and schools across the country.
