Reid Raises $2.4 Million, Has $9 Million on Hand

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid raised more than $2.4 million in April and June, his campaign announced Thursday.

The Nevada Democrat faces his most difficult re-election race yet against former state Assemblywoman Sharron Angle, a tea party-supported Republican. Reid has raised $19 million this cycle and had $9 million on hand as of June 30.

Angle announced she raised $2.3 million in the same period. She began July with $1.8 million in her campaign coffers.

Angle won a nasty three-way primary in early June; Reid was unopposed for the Democratic nomination.

The Senator’s campaign also released a poll commissioned by the Patriot Majority political action committee, which is linked to Reid, that showed the Majority Leader ahead of Angle 44 percent to 40 percent.

The Fairbanks, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates poll of 600 likely voters had a margin of error of 4 points. The poll is among the few that have shown Angle behind, however.
