HOH’s One-Minute Recess: The Bee’s Knees

Talk about a spoonful of sugar (honey?) making the medicine go down. A group called the Pollinator Partnership is holding a heavy-sounding briefing Thursday about “colony collapse disorder and an update on the current state of pollinators in the U.S.” But here’s the hook: The briefing is co-sponsored by Haagen-Dazs and includes an ice cream social and some gratis Burt’s Bees lip balm.

Now, we’re totally supportive of educational efforts on the plight of the honeybee, but we agree that sweetening the deal a little can’t hurt. The briefing is from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 1302 of the Longworth House Office Building.

And then you’ll know what’s the buzz.
