Texas: Flores Outraises Curnock in 17th District Runoff

Businessman Bill Flores (R) has raised and spent significantly more than businessman Rob Curnock (R) ahead of their April 13 runoff in the 17th district.

According to new fundraising reports filed last week with the Federal Election Commission, Flores raised $214,000 and spent $298,000 in a six-week period that ended March 24. Curnock raised just $16,000 and spent $57,000 during the reporting period.

As of March 24, Flores had $63,000 left to spend while Curnock had just $16,000 left to spend.

Flores, who has loaned his campaign $493,000 so far, edged Curnock 33 percent to 29 percent in a five-way primary on March 2.

The winner of the runoff will face Rep. Chet Edwards (D), who is a perennial target for the GOP.
