California: Condoleezza Rice Backs Fiorina in GOP Primary
After a couple years out of the political spotlight, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has popped up in California, endorsing former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in the Republican primary for the Senate.
Rice shares Silicon Valley ties with Fiorina, having spent nearly 20 years at Stanford University in Palo Alto before leaving in 2000 to advise George W. Bush’s presidential campaign and then serve in his two administrations. She returned to Stanford as a political science professor in 2009.
Fiorina is one of three Republican candidates seeking to take on Sen. Barbara Boxer (D).
