Sanchez Returns to Hill, Casts Votes

Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) — who was missing on Saturday, setting off a scramble among top Democrats to find her — showed up Sunday and participated in a procedural vote.

Leaders have listed Sanchez as a “no” vote on final passage of a health care overhaul, so she will be a top target of their whip efforts today.

Two Democratic sources told Roll Call on Saturday night that Sanchez was fundraising in Florida, and her office did not respond to requests for comment at the time. But the Orange County Register on Sunday reported that her chief of staff said she was out of town on personal business.
