HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Reality Recap

Members of Congress sure are all the rage on MTV these days — first Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) made an appearance on last week’s episode of the “Real World: D.C.,” and on Monday, several Members appeared on “The Buried Life.”

[IMGCAP(1)]The reality show centers on four Canadian twentysomething dudes trying to achieve a crazy goal each episode. This week, the foursome set out to play a game of pickup basketball with hoops-loving President Barack Obama. (Spoiler alert: They aren’t able to do it.)

But along the way, several political VIPs and Members of Congress try to help the guys, including Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.) and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.), who played a game of hockey with the group.

HOH got the scoop on that game from Quigley back in October, who told us that he ended up smoking the guys in the matchup.

“It was a lot of fun, especially beating a bunch of Canadians on the ice,” Quigley told HOH at the time. “My daughters just think it’s cool that I’ll be on MTV. C-SPAN doesn’t impress them I guess.”

But HOH’s favorite moment of the episode came from Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.). The guys try to interview him outside one of the Senate office buildings, but the Senator doesn’t seem too interested, telling them: “Now, if I wind up in some porn movie …”

Not porn, Senator. Just MTV.
