DCCC Ended December With $16.7 Million

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will report having $16.7 million in the bank as of Dec. 31 — a handsome sum going into the midterm election year in which the party will be forced to defend dozens of House seats.According to fundraising numbers due to be reported to the Federal Election Commission at the end of the week, the DCCC raised $3.8 million in December for a total of $55.6 million raised in the 2010 election cycle. The committee will also report $2 million in debt.The National Republican Congressional Committee is expected to release its numbers later this week. The GOP committee was well behind its Democratic counterpart in terms of cash on hand at the end of November, when it had only $4.35 million in the bank.
