Susan B. Anthony List Targets Democrats on Health Care Bill

As Congress prepares to resolve the House and Senate versions of the health care reform bill the the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony List is dropping $45,000 on a radio ad campaign that targets 13 Democrats in an effort to remind them of local opposition to government-funded abortions.

The SBA is concerned that Democratic leaders will push through a final version of the bill that will allow government funds to be used to pay for abortion

The 13 Democrats who SBA is focusing on all voted in favor the Stupak Amendment to the health care bill which sought to explicitly prohibit federal funds from being used to pay for abortions under the new law.

The ads coincide with a multi-city tour that is being headlined by former anti-abortion champion and former Colorado Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R.).
