Emanuel to Headline Weekend Fundraiser for Hill

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will headline a Saturday fundraiser for Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.), who is seeking a sixth term this year in the southeastern 9th district.A VIP reception will be held at a private home in Bloomington, followed by a general reception at the Indiana Memorial Union in the same city. The VIP reception costs $1,000 for hosts and $500 for guests; the general reception is $100 per guest.Emanuel is a former House Member from neighboring Illinois, where he represented Chicago from 2003 through 2006. Emanuel was also chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006, and Hill was one of the Democrats whom he helped elect that year as the party swept control of Congress. Hill faces opposition from Republicans Todd Young and Travis Hankins.Hill said in late December that he is definitely seeking re-election to his House seat but also is considering a campaign for Indiana governor in 2012.
