HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Gone to Pot

Most fancy galas held this time of year are pretty predictable, but HOH expects the hosts of one upcoming soiree will be sure to light up the joint. [IMGCAP(1)]Cheech and Chong, the comedians known for their, um, vast appreciation of recreational marijuana use, have been tapped to host the Marijuana Policy Project’s 15th anniversary gala, set for Jan. 13 at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. While the comedic pair (real names: Richard “Cheech— Marin and Tommy Chong) no doubt will offer up more than a few dope-y jokes, the evening also will focus on the MPP’s past successes and upcoming legislative efforts, including a push to end marijuana prohibition on the federal level. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) and former New Mexico Gov.
