Source: Former Rep. Shays Manager Indicted

The former longtime campaign manager to Rep. Chris Shays (R-Conn.), Michael Sohn, is set to be indicted this morning, according to a Connecticut Republican source. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 11:30am.

Sohn was being investigated for the embezzlement of up to $300,000 in campaign funds from Shays’ last race in 2008, when the 10-term House Republican lost to freshman Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.). A preliminary investigation by the Shays campaign last year found that Sohn had used campaign funds to pay for lavish meals, several ATM withdrawals, Red Sox tickets and a donation to his synagogue.
