The seven-term Democrat’s staff did not immediately return a request for comment but confirmed earlier this morning that Kind would announce his plans this afternoon.Kind has been mulling a statewide bid since mid-August, when Gov. Jim Doyle (D) announced he was not going to run for another term.Kind has already attracted a strong GOP challenger for 2010: State Sen. Dan Kapanke (R) announced in early August that he would run in the southwest Wisconsin district.
