Lou Holtz Won’t Run for Congress

Former Notre Dame Football Coach Lou Holtz told an Indiana news station Wednesday that he will not run for Congress against freshman Rep. Suzanne Kosmas (D-Fla.). “I’m working for ESPN. I don’t want to run for Congress,— Holtz told a South Bend television station. “All I’m going to do is fulfill the commitment to ESPN. I’m prepared for it and then we’ll go from there.—Although Holtz has never run for office before, the ESPN analyst spoke to House Republicans at their retreat in January 2007. GOP officials said he was interested in challenging Kosmas next year and, according to a Florida newspaper, they met with him last week to discuss the race.
