Buffalo Labor Leaders Back Cuomo Governor Run

The buzz in New York is that Democratic stakeholders are giving Gov. David A. Paterson until fall to turn around his poll ratings and prove his electoral viability for 2010. But one group of labor leaders in Buffalo isn’t interested in waiting until then.

New York Daily News’ Elizabeth Benjamin has a letter from the 11 union heads, sent earlier this week, entreating Andrew Cuomo to run for governor next year, saying they prefer the popular attorney general to the erstwhile incumbent.

“The actions of Gov. Paterson over the last several months have caused us to have serious concerns relating to New York State’s direction and the negative impact of those decisions on the people of our state,” the letter reads.
