Waxman Hospitalized in Los Angeles

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) was hospitalized in Los Angeles on Tuesday after reporting that he was not feeling well, according to the Associated Press.Waxman checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for “routine testing,— spokeswoman Karen Lightfoot told the AP, adding that he is “feeling much better now.—His office was not immediately available for comment. It was not clear whether Waxman had been released.The 69-year-old California Democrat is coming off a feverish period of leading negotiations on the controversial climate change bill that narrowly cleared the House before the July Fourth recess. And he will be one of three chairmen charged with crafting the chamber’s version of a health care overhaul when Congress returns to work next week.
