HOH’s One-Minute Recess: The Secret of the Would-Be Justice

If Democrats are to be believed and Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is confirmed before August recess, that means one thing — there’s plenty of time for her supporters to plan the party.

[IMGCAP(1)]And what better way to commemorate the occasion, HOH so humbly suggests, than with a fete themed by the judge’s inspiration: fictional girl detective Nancy Drew.

Online guides to planning a Nancy Drew party abound: NDSleuths.com even provides instructions (menu, games and more) for a party built around one of the most beloved of her books, “The Hidden Staircase—; while PartyPop.com suggests a bat mitzvah based on the girl sleuth.

And to join in on the decoupage crafting and searching for clues, don’t forget to invite some of Nancy’s other famous fans, who reportedly include Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, former first lady Laura Bush and former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.

Date Night. An HOH spy spotted former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan and his wife, NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell, at a screening of “The Soloist— at the Motion Picture Association of America headquarters on Wednesday night.

And according to our spy, the Washington power couple appeared notably lovey-dovey at the screening, which was sponsored by the National Press Club Board of Governors. Mitchell snuck into the theater after the lights went down, greeted Greenspan with a quick kiss, and the couple leaned against each other throughout the film, our spy said.

Aw.
