Bachus Worried About Socialists in Congress

House Financial Services ranking member Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) has more on his mind than the state of sinking Wall Street firms: He’s worried about socialists in Congress.According to a Birmingham News story posted Thursday, Bachus warned city and county officials that the Congressional agenda is being shaped by socialist House Members — 17 to be exact.“Some of the men and women I work with in Congress are socialists,— Bachus said at a breakfast speech at the Trussville Civic Center.At the same event, the Alabama Republican said he has “some hope— for working with President Barack Obama. “He’s a better listener than George W. Bush,— Bachus said. “He tries to get ideas from people.—An e-mail to Bachus’ spokesman about the names of those 17 Members was not returned.
