North Carolina: Foxx Cries Wolf, Sends Her Donors a Calendar

It’s the holiday season and Rep. Virginia Foxx (R) is once again giving back to those who give to her.

For the second year in a row, Foxx is offering her supporters the gift of organization by sending any would-be donor who cuts a check for $100 or more a coveted Capitol Historical Society Congressional calendar.

“It occurred to us that as someone who has an interest in history and politics you might enjoy a copy of the wonderful Congressional calendar, ‘We, the People,’” Foxx wrote in a fundraising pitch to supporters on Wednesday. “This calendar is published by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society and is full of the sort of history lessons coveted by folks like you. … So for every contribution of $100 to Virginia Foxx for Congress, I will send one calendar to the donor.”

Foxx, who took 58 percent of the vote against a badly underfunded Democrat on Election Day, warned in her missive that she could be targeted by liberals in 2010.
