Hulshof Loses Missouri Gubernatorial Race

Retiring Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-Mo.) lost his gubernatorial bid on Tuesday night against Show-Me State Attorney General Jay Nixon (D). Nixon was ahead of Hulshof, 58 percent to 40 percent, with 85 percent of precincts reporting, according to the Associated Press. Although Hulshof’s political fate is clear, his successor’s remains uncertain. With 89 percent of the votes counted, former state tourism director Blaine Luetkemeyer (R) was leading state Rep. Judy Baker (D) 50 percent to 48 percent.
