McCain Family in the Spotlight

The family of presumptive presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) took center stage Tuesday night as would-be first lady Cindy McCain entered the convention hall to loud cheers amid a sea of “Country First” and “Service” signs that convention officials had distributed throughout the hall. She was joined by her adopted Bangladeshi daughter, Bridget, who has been by her mother’s side at several events this week, including a breakfast meeting Monday with the Louisiana delegation. In her address, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann told the convention that the McCains’ decision to adopt was an example of how they have lived a life of service. “John and Cindy McCain have adopted a child as have millions of big-hearted Americans,” Bachmann said.
