With Democratic optimism running high, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Friday announced six additions to its “Red to Blue” fundraising and infrastructure program.

Red to Blue, which focuses on flipping Republican-held House seats, now includes 44 candidates. Last cycle, Red to Blue raised $22.6 million for 56 Democratic House challenger candidates, an average of nearly $404,000 per campaign.

The six latest Democratic candidates are state Sen. Don Cravins Jr., who is challenging Rep. Charles Boustany (R) in Louisiana’s 7th district; former Nevada Democratic Party Chairwoman Jill Derby, who is in a rematch with Rep. Dean Heller (R) in the Silver State’s 2nd district; physician Victoria Wulsin, who is in a rematch with Rep. Jean Schmidt (R) in Ohio’s 2nd district; businesswoman Kathy Dahlkemper, who is taking on Rep. Phil English (R) in Pennsylvania’s 3rd district; and in Virginia, attorney Tom Perriello, who is running against Rep. Virgil Goode (R) in the 5th district, and Georgetown Public Policy Institute Dean Judy Feder, who is trying again against Rep. Frank Wolf (R) in the 10th district.

The DCCC will also endorse the winner of next week’s primary in Missouri’s open 9th district, where the leading Democratic contenders are state Rep. Judy Baker and former state Speaker Steve Gaw.

“The candidates for change being named to the DCCC Red to Blue program are running solid campaigns and are committed to making things easier for middle-class families in their districts,” DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen (Md.) said.
