Paulson Spied at Senate GOP Lunch

Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson was spied entering the Republican policy luncheon Tuesday afternoon.

Paulson is likely trying to shore up support for the costly housing package. The Congressional Budget Office reported Tuesday that a federal bailout of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will cost taxpayers a whopping $25 billion.

The rescue plan is expected to be included in the massive housing bill that is slated to hit the Senate floor this week. It may come up even sooner now that a deal on the energy package has come undone.
