Arizona: Praise Lord, Pass Ammunition to Labor, AFL Says

Attorney Bob Lord (D), hoping to oust Rep. John Shadegg (R) in the GOP-leaning, suburban Phoenix 3rd district, has been endorsed by the Grand Canyon State affiliate of the AFL-CIO.

With around 165,000 members, the Arizona AFL-CIO bills itself as the largest labor organization in the state.

“We intend to put substantial resources forward to educate union members and their families on the views of our endorsed candidates and then ensure their successful election,” Arizona AFL-CIO Executive Director Rebekah Friend said in a statement released by the Lord campaign.

Shadegg is favored for re-election, but Lord is making him work.
