Suit Drive Heads to Capitol South Metro

Dressing the part is always a smart idea before heading to a job interview, if you’ve got the bank account to fund it. But for women without the means, that pair of heels may be a step too far into debt.

On Wednesday, FedEx Operation Special Delivery and Dress for Success, an international nonprofit aimed at helping disadvantaged women find work and achieve economic independence, will sponsor the third annual “Send a Suit” campaign. The groups will collect donations of professional women’s clothing and other accessories at the Capitol South Metro stop from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hill staffers and Members of Congress are encouraged to participate.

“Send a Suit” drives have collected more than 1,000 items of clothing since the initiative began in 2006.
