Atlanta native Mary Clare Carley is the newest addition to the staff of Rep. John Linder (R-Ga.) after recently being tapped as a staff assistant for the Georgia Congressman.

Among Carley’s new duties are conducting Capitol tours, scheduling White House tours and answering constituent letters. Before coming to Capitol Hill, Carley, 23, worked in London for Finex Communications, a public relations firm. She graduated in August 2003 from the University of Georgia, where she earned a bachelor’s in political science.

[IMGCAP(1)] Turner Turns a Few More. After bidding farewell to his office spinner Andrew Blotky, who begins his new job this week as press secretary for Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Rep. Jim Turner (D-Texas) promoted Sundance Banks to communications director and also hired Elizabeth Wilson as a scheduler in his Hill office.

Before joining Turner’s office in August 2003, Blotky, 24, worked as an associate at LEK consulting in his hometown of Los Angeles. He is a 2002 graduate of Stanford University and holds a bachelor’s in political science.

Banks previously served as a legislative assistant and deputy press secretary for Turner. The Amarillo, Texas, native also previously worked in New Orleans promoting adult literacy. Banks, 25, graduated in 2001 from Tulane University and holds a bachelor’s in literature and writing.

In her new role, Wilson, 21, will be responsible for managing Turner’s schedule and travel arrangements. Before coming to the Lone Star State Congressman’s office, Wilson served as the first intern in newly elected Rep. Ben Chandler’s (D-Ken.) office. She has also worked as a staff assistant in the office of South Carolina Gov. Jim Hodges (D) and as an intern in the office of Sen. Fritz Hollings (D-S.C.). Wilson is a Columbia, S.C., native who attended George Washington University. She just graduated in May with a degree in English.
