The San Francisco Treat?

There may not be a more famous pose in the city. In this 1982 photo, then-Mayor Dianne Feinstein waves from one of San Francisco’s famed cable cars as it traverses the city’s steep streets. One of San Francisco’s other famous symbols, the Bay Bridge, can be seen faintly in the background. Feinstein, now a Democratic Senator from California and a member of the Appropriations Committee, had helped revive the world-famous cable cars with the help of the federal government. She counts it among her accomplishments as mayor.
