Schumer: ‘We Will Get Bipartisan Support’ For DACA in Omnibus

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer teed up a potential year-end spending fight at a press briefing Tuesday over the inclusion of updated language for the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA. He said Democrats want DACA in an omnibus spending bill to keep the government’s lights on (current funding runs out Dec. 8). Schumer — who said he hadn’t spoken to President Donald Trump in “about three weeks” — added he thinks Trump and Republicans will get on board with the plan.
