Pelosi Questions Using FEMA Money in Flint

At her weekly news conference Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi pushed back on the notion the Flint, Mich. lead-tainted water crisis should be declared a natural disaster to free up money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, saying the crisis is a “political disaster,” not a “natural disaster."

“That money is money for natural disasters,” Pelosi said. “That money is not there for political disasters, and what the governor did was a policy disaster of the highest magnitude."
