McConnell: No Hearing on Supreme Court Nominee

The Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have reached consensus that President Barack Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court should receive no hearing, and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday he would follow the committee’s recommendation.

McConnell added that he knows “what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot, that a nominee by a Republican president would not be confirmed by a Democrat Senate” in an election year.
