Roll Call Releases List of 50 Richest Members of Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. Roll Call Group, Capitol Hills leading news source for the coverage of the people, politics and process that shape the legislative landscape, today released its annual list of the 50 Richest Members of Congress.
Crafted by Roll Calls editorial investigative unit, this list is created by poring over the financial disclosure forms of every Member of Congress to determine who has the most wealth. In addition to reviewing the top 50 and their various assets and liabilities, the report also examines the loopholes in the filing requirements that allow lawmakers to provide vague information.
Our list of the 50 Richest Members isnt an attempt at outing one congressperson over another, but rather to give readers a look at the information already made public through their financial disclosure forms, said Roll Call Editor Charlie Mitchell. We also want to tell readers how these forms help conceal massive fortunes from the public eye.
