Roll Call Launches The Road Ahead
Policy-focused series premiers in todays issue with exclusive health section
WASHINGTON, D.C. Roll Call Group, Capitol Hills leading news source for coverage of the people, politics and process that shape the legislative landscape, announced today the launch of The Road Ahead, a bi-weekly series focused on how the 111th Congress will tackle key policy areas.
The 2008 elections will be historic at both the executive and Congressional level, says Roll Call Editor-in-Chief Charlie Mitchell. Whether or not the balance of power shifts, the new Congress will inherit a set of policy initiatives that need to be addressed. Roll Call is the first publication to address these initiatives head on.
The first in the series, entitled Heath Care, debuts in todays issue of Roll Call and RollCall.com. Upcoming issues include Energy & the Environment (June 5), Telecom (June 19), Finance (July 10), Transportation (July 24) and Trade (August 7).
Each section will feature:
- An outlook on related bills from CongressNow, Roll Calls legislative wire service, as well as charts of bills to watch;
- Profiles of key Members of Congress and staff involved with each issue;
- A view from K street players on how the battle lines are drawn; and
- Policy positions of the 2008 presidential candidates.
