Roll Call Photographers Honored

Note from Roll Call Photo Editor Douglas Graham

I’m really happy to announce that Staff Photographer Tom Williams won an award from the White House News Photographers Association in the 2009 “Eyes of History” contest.

Tom won 3rd place in one of the hardest categories for his photo of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and then-Rep. Rahm Emanuel whispering to each other after the House passed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act on Oct. 3, 2008. The category, “On Capitol Hill,” always has the highest number of entries.

Philip Andrews, our contributing photographer, also netted an award of excellence in the “Pictorial” category for Roll Call.
