Reid Boasts About Not Going Back to Nevada
Residency issues plagued colleagues, but not former Democratic leader

Residency issues knocked out a handful of Harry Reid’s colleagues over the years, but the outgoing Senate Democratic leader didn’t even pretend that he got back to his home state of Nevada on a regular basis. 

“It’s amazing what I have not done,” said Reid in the recent cover story for GW Magazine. “I don’t go home every week. I never have, even when I was in the House. I don’t like banquets, parades.”

Republicans will win a key race in their quest to keep control of the Senate, with GOP Rep. Todd Young besting Democratic former Sen. Evan Bayh, The Associated Press projects.

Democrats had little room for error in their quest to re-take control of the Senate. That made Bayh’s race a major battleground. The contest was tight all the way, with The Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call listing it as a Tossup until voters went to the polls on Tuesday.
