Rep. Keith Ellison is calling for a House Ethics Committee inquiry into allegations of abuse against him made by a former girlfriend.

“I am taking this step now because I am innocent and eager to see this entire matter resolved,” the Minnesota Democrat said in a statement Wednesday.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., joined House candidate Deb Haaland in Albuquerque Tuesday to advocate for reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, touting the bill’s provisions aimed at protecting Native American communities.

“For indigenous women, change has been slow and we are in the fight for our lives,” said Haaland, who, if elected to the Albuquerque-based 1st District seat, would make history as the first Native American woman elected to the House. She is an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna.

PHILADELPHIA — Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid seemed practically elated over reports of alleged domestic abuse by Florida Rep. Alan Grayson.  

“We are feeling really good about what’s going on in Florida with Grayson’s ex-wife telling everybody what a rat he is,” Reid said in a brief interview Thursday after a news conference at the Nevada delegation’s hotel.

Florida Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson, whose Senate campaign is shuddering under allegations that he beat his ex-wife, on Tuesday threatened a reporter who asked him for his side of the story, according to two videos.  

"I'm hoping somebody comes and arrests you,” Grayson told Politico reporter Edward-Isaac Dovere at an event — hosted by Politico — at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
