In a last-ditch effort to secure the Democratic presidential nomination, Bernie Sanders needs the very people he's disparaged: superdelegates.

But it's not clear how actively he's courting them to support his campaign.

Some of Bernie Sanders' supporters say the Democratic Party's nominating process is rigged against the Vermont senator . They point to the party’s proportional distribution of delegates for making it mathematically impossible for Sanders to catch Hillary Clinton in the race for pledged delegates. We took a look at a few alternatives to the current process to see if they might have been friendlier to the Sanders campaign.

What We Learned from the New York Primaries

The two presidential front-runners managed to put more distance between themselves and their challengers with big wins in New York's presidential primaries on Tuesday.

Republican Donald Trump scored a convincing win over Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and will take nearly all of the state's 95 delegates. Cruz, running a distant second in the nationwide delegate count, was shut out. Hillary Clinton's decisive win in the Democratic primary broke challenger Sen. Bernie Sanders' momentum, and she declared that the end of the campaign is in sight.

It sounds like Reince Priebus has had enough.

"Nomination process known for a year + beyond. It's the responsibility of the campaigns to understand it. Complaints now? Give us all a break," The Republican National Committee chairman tweeted  Tuesday night after Donald Trump's latest barrage of criticism about being treated unfairly by the GOP.

Ted Cruz shares my values. In state after state, that’s the metric that has driven the Texas senator’s ascent as the true challenger to Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.

Republican voters who listed that as the most important quality in a candidate preferred Cruz over Trump in all 20 states cited in an interactive New York Times graphic published Tuesday before the Wisconsin primary.
