Rohrabacher Says It’s OK to Not Sell Homes to Gay People

Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher lost the support of a national Realtors group after he said they should be allowed to refuse to sell houses to lesbian and gay people.

Rohrabacher made the comments to an Orange County Association of Realtors delegation in Washington, the Orange County Register reported.

Hans Keirstead never mentions Rohrabacher by name in the ad.

Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher was outraised by his challengers in  his re-election bid for a second consecutive quarter, but much of that came from their own pockets.

An analysis by the Los Angeles Times found that Rohrabacher raised $271,969 in the fourth quarter of 2017 and has $713,144 in cash on hand.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher will testify before the House Select Intelligence Committee later this month about his August meeting with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in which the two discussed who stole Democratic National Committee emails leading up to the 2016 elections.

The Russian government directed the email heist, U.S. intelligence officials have alleged. Rohrabacher has urged since his meeting with Assange that these allegations are not true. The California Republican has been criticized sharply for his perceived defense of the Russian government, and he sees his impending testimony as a chance to prove his intentions are pure.

Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III is reportedly probing into a meeting California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher had with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, according to NBC.

Rohrabacher, a Republican, is frequently referred to as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s favorite congressman because of his support for a stronger partnership between Russia and the United States.

One of California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher’s Democratic challengers is calling on him to return money from former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was indicted on charges related to the Russia investigation on Monday.

Hans Keirstead, a stem cell researcher who is one of several candidates challenging the Republican incumbent, said Manafort’s contribution to Rohrabacher’s campaign is “tainted.”

Democratic House candidate Hans Keirstead outraised his Democratic opponents and slightly trailed Republican Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, who he is hoping to unseat.

Keirstead, a stem-cell scientist, raised $330,937.24 in total receipts, according to his October quarterly filing with the Federal Election Commission.

California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher says White House aides are preventing President Donald Trump from pardoning WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Rohrabacher made the accusations to The Daily Caller after Trump said he hadn’t heard of any potential deal with Assange. Asked about a possible pardon for Assange on Sunday, Trump replied, “I’ve never heard that mentioned, really, I’ve never heard that mentioned.”

The political arm of the moderate New Democrat Coalition is adding 12 House challengers to its list of candidates to watch in 2018. 

NewDemPAC’s recognition comes with a $1,000 contribution this quarter and guidance about messaging and strategy. The watch list is a way for the group to get involved in races earlier than it previously has. Last cycle, the PAC contributed about $1 million to federal candidates and it expects to give out at least that much this cycle.

Two of California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher's Democratic opponents lambasted him for calling racial violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, last month a “total hoax.”

In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Rohrabacher said it was possible that a “former Hillary (Clinton) or Bernie (Sanders) supporter” organized “Civil War re-enactors” to rally around a statue of Robert E. Lee.
