Members and staff: It's Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. What are you doing about it, besides maybe tweeting? Will you be heading to the fried chicken giant's Crystal City, Va., storefront or looking for the D.C. food truck? Or are you starting to get burned out, aware that recess is around the corner and there's a tax reform vote or whatever?
Need motivation to show your support? Not to worry. Presidential candidate and Quran-burning pastor Terry Jones is on your side.
Jones, who announced his candidacy for the highest elected office in America in November, will show his support for Chick-fil-A President and CEO Dan Cathy’s anti-same-sex-marriage stance today in the best way he knows how: eating at a Chick-fil-A location in the Magnolia Mall in Florence, S.C.
Members of the pastor’s political party “Stand Up America" will join Jones in supporting Cathy's stance by eating at a different Chick-Fil-A location in Gainsville, Fla., where Jones serves as a pastor at the Dove World Outreach Center. (The party has seven main points to save America, including deporting all illegal immigrants and legalizing industrial hemp.)
For those not aware of the fried-chicken/gay marriage wars, Chick-fil-A has come under a flurry of controversy after Cathy said he was opposed to same-sex marriage on a radio show.
“I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,' and I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is about,” Cathy said on the "Ken Coleman Show."
So tell us, HOH fans: What are you doing for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day?
