A latecomer to a crowded presidential field, former Pennsylvania Rep. Joe Sestak announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president Sunday.

Sestak, now the 24th Democrat to launch a bid for the presidency has run twice for Senate in Pennsylvania, losing to Sen. Patrick J. Toomey in 2010 and falling short of his party’s nomination in 2016.
