Rep.-elect Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz.,has hired two campaign staffers to work in her new digs at the Cannon House Office Building. Her campaign manager from 2012, Carmen Gallus, will be chief of staff. Her campaign communications director, Jennifer Johnson, will take on the same role in Kirkpatrick’s Hill office.
The other former member returning to the Arizona delegation, Republican Rep.-elect Matt Salmon, is bringing familiar faces with him: His campaign manager, Adam Deguire, will be his chief of staff.
Beyond Arizona, Rep.-elect Pete Gallego, D-Texas, named Cesar Blanco as his chief of staff. Blanco previously was Arizona state director for the Obama campaign and a Democratic National Committee regional political director.
Tar Heel Strategist Lands Law Job
Brian Nick became senior director of strategic communications for public affairs at Moore & Van Allen in Charlotte, N.C., earlier this month.
Nick was previously with Strategic Perception, Fred Davis’ Hollywood-based political advertising firm. Nick has been a close political adviser to Gov.-elect Pat McCrory, an NRSC communications director and a chief of staff to former Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole.
