The Senate Democrats' campaign arm Tuesday is kicking off what could be a prolonged campaign to link Republican senators to the businessman and GOP presidential front-runner, with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee launching a new website declaring the GOP, "the party of Trump."

"Republicans know that Trump threatens their already fragile Senate majority, but they are unwilling and unable to do anything to stop the car from driving off the cliff with Trump at the wheel," DSCC National Press Secretary Lauren Passalacqua said in a statement. "The DSCC 'Party of Trump’ campaign will hold GOP Senators and candidates accountable for their irresponsible and reckless behavior."

The campaign is expected to feature a variety of paid media spots, including on television and social networks. And coinciding with the launch, the DSCC posted a new web video that appears likely to be sliced and diced for more targeted distribution to individual states with Republican senators on the 2016 ballot.

The video pairs snippets of Trump firing off barrages of expletives during his campaign events, pairing them with comments by Republican lawmakers pledging to support the party's nominee, regardless of whom prepares in the primaries or a potential contested convention.

Democratic senators have already pushed the case that the Republican position on refusing to confirm a Supreme Court justice in President Barack Obama's final year in the White House could turn the responsibility for picking the next associate justice to Trump.
