The traditional Congressional Hockey Challenge is here, the annual Lawmakers versus Lobbyists competition to raise money for featured charities.

Face off is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kettler Capitals IcePlex in Arlington, Va. The game will raise money for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund; the Fort DuPont Ice Hockey Club, an NHL-sponsored non-profit that encourages local, inner-city youth to participate in ice hockey, and USA Warriors Ice Hockey Program, which supports wounded service men and women. The Lawmakers team will be represented by Reps. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn., Tom Emmer, R-Minn., Patrick Meehan, R-Pa., Larry Bucshon, R-Ind., and John Katko, R-N.Y., who will be joined by lawmakers from Canada, members of the USA Warriors Hockey team and Capitol Hill staffers.

The Lawmakers’ coaching staff is Jack Way from the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Joe Fawell from the office of Rep. Peter Roskam, R-Ill., and Mike Wertheimer from the office of Rep. William Keating’s, D-Mass., office.

The Lobbyists Team is represented by influence heavy-hitters like Kathy Black of Coca-Cola, Kraig Siracuse of Park Strategies and Seth Webb of Google, among others, with a coaching staff headed up by FTI Consulting’s John Cline; Lesley Elliott from District City Consulting and Anne Policastro of UPS.

Tickets for the game are $10 and available when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. An online auction raises further money until 10 p.m. on Thursday. Items include an NHL All-Star jerseys signed by members of both teams, as well as Washington Capitals swag, including jerseys donated by Alex Ovechkin and other NHL knick-knacks signed by the likes of NHL stars Sidney Crosby and Claude Giroux.
