William A. McConagha has joined the food, drug and medical device compliance and enforcement and food, drug and medical device regulatory practices at law and lobbying firm Sidley Austin LLP as a partner. McConagha was a health policy adviser for the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. He has worked at the Food and Drug Administration as assistant commissioner for accountability and integrity in the office of the commissioner and as acting deputy chief counsel. Clarence E. Anthony has been named executive director at the National League of Cities (NLC). Anthony is the leader of his own consulting firm, Anthony Government Solutions. He also has served as the interim manager for United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). He was the founding treasurer of UCLG. He also was mayor of South Bay, Fla., and as president of NLC.
