Stewart “Mac” Bybee has been promoted to deputy chief of staff for Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev. Bybee was Heller’s communications director. He has worked for then-Rep. Heller as a legislative aide. He also has worked as a legislative correspondent for former Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev.
Chandler Smith has been named communications director for Heller. Smith was the communications director for Heller’s 2012 Senate campaign. She has worked for Heller as a press secretary. She also has worked as a press secretary for the Republican staff of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
Michawn Rich has been promoted to deputy press secretary for Heller. Rich was a press assistant and staff assistant for Heller.
Stephanie Tsacoumis has been named general counsel for the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Tsacoumis is vice president and general counsel of Georgetown University. She has also worked as a corporate partner and co-partner in charge of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a law and lobbying firm.
Drew Maloney has been appointed vice president of government affairs and public policy for Hess Corp., an oil company. Maloney was the CEO of lobbying firm Oglivy Government Relations. He has worked as an administrative assistant and legislative director for former Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Texas. He has also worked as a legislative director and legislative assistant for then-Rep. Roger Wicker, R-Miss.
Zachary Lemnios has been hired as vice president of research strategy at IBM Research. Lemnios was the assistant secretary of defense for research and engineering at the Defense Department.
Keith Glatz has been hired as vice president of international affairs at Airlines for America, a trade group. Glatz was senior negotiator for the office of international aviation and affairs at the Transportation Department.
Katie Connell has been hired as managing director of airline industry public relations and communications at Airlines for America. She was a manager of corporate communications at Gannett. Connell also has worked as senior manager of corporate communications and media relations at Delta Air Lines. She was a corporate communications specialist and marketing specialist at Delta Technology Inc.
Adam Noah has been named senior vice president for congressional relations at the American Bankers Association. Noah was vice president for federal affairs at the American Insurance Association. He also has worked as chief financial counsel to Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga. He also served as counsel to the House Small Business Committee. He worked as an associate at Club for Growth, a conservative-leaning advocacy group.
Deanne Johnson de Mariño has been named executive director of the American Bankers Insurance Association. Mariño was a senior writer at the American Bankers Association. She also has worked as a policy analyst at ABIA. She served as a benefits consultant for The 125Company Inc. She was a financial planner for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. She worked as a marketing supervisor at 3M.
