Hunter Ridgway has been hired as chief of staff to Rep.-elect Matt Cartwright, D-Pa. Ridgway was chief of staff to Rep. John W. Olver, D-Mass. He has served as legislative director. He also worked as legislative director to former Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif.
Jennifer B. McHugh has been named senior adviser to the director in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s division of investment management. McHugh was acting director of investment management and was a senior adviser to SEC Chairwoman Mary L. Schapiro. She has also worked at the division as special counsel in the office of investment adviser regulation.
Kirk S. Lippold has been hired as senior vice president for military policy and strategic development at Phillip Stutts & Company. Lippold was section chief for regional affairs in the international strategy division in the office of the chief of naval operations in the Navy. He also has served as deputy division chief and politico-military planner for the Joint Chiefs of Staff directorate for strategic plans and policy. He was the commanding officer of the USS Cole when it came under terrorist suicide attack. Lippold retired from the Navy with the rank of commander.
Sharon Hrynkow has been appointed president of the Global Virus Network. She was counselor and senior scientist in the secretary of State’s office of science and technology and a senior adviser to the assistant secretary for oceans, environment and science. She also worked as associate director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, part of the National Institutes of Health. She was also deputy director and acting director of NIH’s Fogarty International Center.
Gina Grandinetti Woodworth has been hired as vice president of public policy and government affairs at trade group The Internet Association. Woodworth was senior director of federal government affairs at the Entertainment Software Association. She has worked as a legislative aide and technology policy coordinator for former Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev. She also has served as a staff director for the Senate High Tech Task Force.
James L. Kroeker has joined the professional practice at law and lobbying firm Deloitte as deputy managing partner. Kroeker was the chief accountant at the SEC. He has worked as staff director of the agency’s study of fair value accounting standards and as deputy chief accountant. He has also worked as a partner at Deloitte.
Eric Berman has joined the litigation practice at law and lobbying firm Williams Mullen as a partner. Berman was a senior associate at law and lobbying firm Baker Botts. He also has worked as a senior associate at Howrey.
William E. Evans has been hired as an associate at Bean, Kinney & Korman. He was law clerk. He also worked at the National Whistleblowers Center.
