Orbital Sciences Corp. Launches Antares Rocket, With a Boost from Lobbying

The brand-new Antares rocket sent into its first test flight Sunday was launched by the Orbital Science Corporation, a company that hasn't wanted to be without a presence at the Pentagon, the White House or on Capitol Hill. The rocket was launched from the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The company is one of two companies with NASA contracts to provide space station cargo. The company spent $355,000 on lobbying during 2012. Their lobbyists are Kathleen Kronmiller and Michelle Frank. Their 2012 fourth-quarter lobbying report detailed their areas of interest, such as aeronautics, defense, budget, and trade.
