Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., spent her Friday showcasing Washington and teaching staffers about what the district has to officer.

Her annual “Ask Me About D.C.” reception hosted D.C. restaurants, museums, shops, theaters, tourist attractions and nightlife venues.

“Each year, our burgeoning hospitality industry highlights the increasing number of D.C. hot spots that Members of Congress and their staff may not even know about,” Norton said in a press release.

Restaurants also provided samples and Hill Country Barbecue, located in Chinatown, supplied boxed lunches for guests.

Norton teamed up with Destination DC, the District of Columbia’s official tourism and marketing office, for the showcase.

“It is a very popular event on the Hill not only because Members and staffers can learn about what is new, but also so they can inform their constituents visiting the nation’s capital about the best attractions our city has to offer,” she said in the release.

Norton has been hosting the event for more than a decade. In 2015 , the lunch treat was Chick-fil-A and in 2014 , local barbecue joints Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Co., provided lunch.
