Baucus and House Ways and Means Chairman David Camp, R-Mich., have been building a plan for comprehensive tax reform for months. Wyden has supported these efforts. Their plans would eliminate deductions while lowering overall rates. Finance and Ways and Means committee members should continue to pursue a plan that reduces both corporate and individual rates significantly. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle in both the House and Senate would help business and Americans workers if they backed their efforts this year.
To do anything else would be unbalanced, unwise and unfair.
